Why The Daybreak?

Al-Sa'di: الفَلَق is mentioned because it represents Allah's power over darkness. Darkness was total — then Allah commanded the light. The One who controls the splitting of dawn controls all harm in the night before it.

🛡

أَعُوذُ — I Take Refuge

Ibn Kathir: أَعُوذُ is from عَاذَ — to run to a strong protector. Not just asking — running. The one seeking refuge physically moves toward the protector. This surah is an act of movement toward Allah.

📖

The Mu'awwidhatain

The Prophet said: لَمْ يُنْزَلْ مِثْلُهُمَا — nothing like these two surahs has been revealed. Al-Sa'di: they cover all sources of harm — the visible and invisible, human and jinn, envy and magic. Together they are a complete shield.
