The Turning Point of the Surah
Al-Sa'di: the first four verses describe Allah. This verse turns directly to address Him. The servant has been reminded of who Allah is — and now speaks to Him directly.This is the moment salah becomes a conversation.

Worship First, Then Help
Al-Sa'di: the order is deliberate — إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ (worship) before إِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ (seeking help). You establish your submission first, then you ask.Not: help me so I'll worship — but: I worship You, and I need Your help.

Ibn Kathir: the shift to plural 'we' is significant. Even when praying alone, you pray as part of the entire Muslim community.Salah connects every Muslim to every other Muslim across time and space.
إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ You alone. Only You. No one else. This is Tawhid in two words.
