Third of the Quran
The Prophet said this surah equals one third of the Quran. Al-Sa'di: because the Quran covers three main themes — tawhid (oneness), rulings, and stories. This surah is pure tawhid — the foundation of everything.

The Question Behind This Surah
Ibn Kathir: the Quraysh asked the Prophet — describe your Lord to us. Allah revealed this surah as the answer. In four verses, every false description of God is refuted.

قُلْ — Say It Out Loud
Al-Sa'di: the command قُلْ means this is not just belief in the heart — it must be declared. Tawhid is both an inner conviction and an outward proclamation.
