Al-Sa'di: لَمْ يَلِدْ directly addresses the Christian claim that Jesus is the son of God. Allah begets no one.Sonship implies similarity of nature, need for succession, and limitation — all impossible for Allah.

Ibn Kathir: Arab pagans believed the angels were daughters of Allah. This verse refutes every religion that assigned relatives to God — daughters, sons, wives, or parents.

Al-Sa'di: Allah was not born — meaning He has no beginning, no creator, no source. He is الأَوَّل — the First, before whom there is nothing.Everything has a cause except Allah — He is the Uncaused Cause.
